Clarification
[edit]"Ryan died aged 87 at Wimbledon" - did she die at the tournament or in the London suburb? If the latter then it should be "in Wimbledon" with appropriate linking. The Rambling Man on tour (talk) 08:23, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- "At" Wimbledon means "at" the tournament. Tennis expert (talk) 03:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Date of death
[edit]The article claims the date of death is July 8. This is probably wrong[1], but there are too many websites which site Wikipedia with the wrong date. Eran (talk) 20:14, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Eran, thanks for bringing this up. From the newspaper sources as well as from John Barrett's World of Tennis 1980 it is clear that she died on the day of the ladies final, Friday, July 6, 1979, a day before Billie Jean King won her 20th Wimbledon title. Have corrected the article and added three sources.--Wolbo (talk) 00:04, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
